Show Me Bears is St. Louis' bear community organization, founded in 1993 by Mike Royal and Rich Mergen. What began as a small group gathering at the Outpost — a bar tucked beside Magnolia's — has grown into one of the Midwest's most recognized and beloved bear clubs. Over the years, Show Me Bears has called several St. Louis establishments home. When JJ's Clubhouse closed its doors, the club found a warm welcome at Keyper's Piano Bar while searching for a permanent home. Today, Show Me Bears is proudly headquartered at BAR:PM. To the founders who dared to build it, the members who kept it alive, and every bear who ever walked through the door — thirty years of HiBearNation belongs to all of you. Welcome back to the Den.
